How to completely uninstall Unity Hub on Mac

Dragging Unity to the Trash removes the app itself, but its support files, caches and settings stay on your Mac. Here is where they are and how to remove all of them.

Good to know

Unity Hub is only the manager. The Unity Editor versions it installs are far larger and sit in /Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor, one folder per version. Caches and downloaded packages are in ~/Library/Unity.

Before you start

Remove the editor versions you do not need from the Installs tab in Unity Hub before uninstalling the Hub. Your projects are ordinary folders wherever you created them and are not touched. To free your licence for another computer, return it in the Hub's licence settings first.

Bundle identifier: com.unity3d.unityhub

Remove Unity by hand

  1. Quit Unity. If it has a menu bar icon or runs in the background, quit that too.
  2. Open the Applications folder and drag Unity to the Trash.
  3. In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G), paste each location below, and move what you find to the Trash. Not every location exists for every version.
  4. Empty the Trash, then restart your Mac so nothing from Unity is left running.

The quick way

Diskzy finds Unity and the files listed here, shows the size of each one, and moves them to the Trash together. Files that another app also uses are left alone.
